TAS Severe Weather Warning: Damaging Winds

For areas south of a line from Strathgordon to Maria Island.
Issued at 11:25 am on Tuesday 9 March 2010

An intense low pressure system to the southwest of the state will move away to
the southeast of us tonight with an associated cold front to cross from the west
later this afternoon.

West to southwest winds strong enough to bring down some tree branches and power
lines are expected from late afternoon until about 2am Wednesday. The strongest
gust is expected to be 110km/h.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should secure loose outside
items.
