For people in the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of the Yorke Peninsula districts.

Issued at 10:08 am Wednesday, 25 August 2010.

A front embedded in a vigorous northwest to southwest airstream will move across southern South Australia today.

Localised damaging wind squalls with gusts, generally around 90-100 km/h, are forecast in the warning area today, mostly associated with rain or hail showers. Locations which may be affected include the Adelaide area, Kingscote, Minlaton, Meningie, Robe and Mount Gambier.

A wind gust of 90 km/h was reported at Cape Borda earlier this morning.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
