Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of the Yorke Peninsula districts.
Issued at 4:16 pm Wednesday, 25 August 2010.
A vigorous westerly airstream over southern South Australia is currently
generating scattered showers, with localised damaging wind squalls and some
small hail, but conditions are expected to temporarily ease this evening.
A front south of the Bight is moving rapidly northeast and is expected to sweep
across the warning area between midnight tonight and Thursday morning. This will
lead to a resurgence of showers and potentially damaging winds, averaging 50-65
km/h at times with gusts mostly around 90-100 km/h.
Locations which may be affected include the Adelaide area, Kingscote, Meningie,
Murray Bridge, Robe and Mount Gambier.
Wind gusts of 90-95 km/h have occurred at Cape Borda and Mount Crawford today.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
