For the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts north of Broken Hill for
Friday and early Saturday.

Note: This Flood Watch is a "heads up" for possible future flooding and is NOT a
Flood Warning.
Synoptic Situation:
A deep low is expected to develop in the far northwest of the State Thursday
evening and move southeast to be over the far southeast of the State Saturday
morning. An associated trough of low pressure will move through the Northeast
Pastoral during Friday and on Saturday morning.
Rainfall:
Recent rainfall has been well above average in the Northeast Pastoral district.
Forecast: Areas of rain with scattered thunderstorms, local heavy falls and
local flooding are possible over the Northeast Pastoral and northern Flinders
districts during Friday, then contract east and clear by midday Saturday. Falls
of 20-40 mm with local heavy falls of 40-80 mm are expected in this period.
Flood Risk:
There is potential for local flooding in the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders
districts north of Broken Hill later on Friday and on Saturday. People should
monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings.
