Weather Situation
A low pressure system is deepening over South Australia. This low is expected to move through western Victoria during Saturday, bringing windy conditions, and heavy rainfall over inland parts of New South Wales. The low is expected to move to the southern Tasman Sea on Sunday.
Damaging winds averaging 65 km/h with peak gusts around 90 km/h are forecast for Saturday for the South Coast, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains forecast districts and parts of the Australian Capital Territory, Illawarra, Central Tablelands and South West Slopes forecast districts.
Alpine Peaks may experience winds averaging 100 km/h with peak gusts around 120 km/h
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
Keep clear of fallen power lines.
