FLOOD WARNING FOR THE NOGOA AND DAWSON RIVERS
Issued at 8:03 PM on Sunday the 5th of September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

Heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours has led to river level rises in the
Fitzroy basin with minor flood levels forecast for the Nogoa river at Craigmore
and moderate flood levels forecast at Taroom on the Dawson River in the early
part of this week. Further rises are dependent on forecast rainfall.

NOGOA RIVER
Fast rises have been recorded at Craigmore on the Nogoa River following heavy
rainfall throughout the weekend. Minor flood levels are expected at Craigmore on
Monday. Fairbairn Dam is expected to spill this week although flood levels in
Emerald are expected to remain well below minor at this stage.

Rainfall totals in the 24 hours to 7pm include 130mm at Billaboo, 118mm at
Craigmore, 80mm at Ducabrook and 46mm at Raymond. Further falls of 50mm are
forecast overnight although some falls may be locally heavier.


DAWSON RIVER
Moderate flood levels have been recorded at Windamere on Jundah Creek. Further
rises are expected as rainfall continues. Downstream at Taroom, flood levels are
expected to reach at least moderate level during Monday and Tuesday with further
rises possible with forecast rainfall.
