TAS Flood Watch: Northern River Basins

TAS Flood Watch: Northern River Basins
Source: Bureau of Meteorology

Issued at 4:01pm on Wednesday the 8th of September 2010

Initial Flood Watch advice for northern river basins

Statement:
Patchy rain will develop about the west tonight and extend statewide tomorrow
before increasing about the west and north during the afternoon and evening.

Between 5 and 15 mm of rain is expected about the north tomorrow and early
Friday, particularly over the northwest and central north, with the possibility
of 20mm over elevated areas.

As the north is generally saturated and rivers are already running high, further
rainfall may mean strong and dangerous flows become a hazard in some rivers and
streams. Low level roads and bridges may be at risk of flooding.

Weather Outlook:
Rain, easing Friday morning.
