EMERGENCY WARNING - Hillville Rd, Hillville (Mid-Coast LGA)

A bush fire is burning in the area of Hillville, south of Taree,
and is spreading quickly. The fire is more than 13,000 hectares in
size and is out of control.
Current Situation
The fire is burning in a north and easterly direction in the area
of Hillville, south of Taree.
The fire is impacting on properties in the area of Old Bar and
Wallabi Point.
Advice
If you are in the area of Old Bar and Wallabi Point, seek shelter
as the fire approaches. Protect yourself from the heat of the fire
by sheltering in a solid structure.
If you are in the area of Tinonee, Taree South, Purfleet,
Hillville, Rainbow Flat, Diamond Beach, Possum Brush, Tallwoods
Village, Hallidays Point, continue to monitor conditions. If the
fire reaches your location, seek shelter.
Other Information
Evacuation Centres are open today at Old Bar Primary School (David
Street, Old Bar), Old Bar Bowling Club (1 Belford St, Old Bar),
Club Taree (121 Wingham Road, Taree) and Tuncurry Bowling Club (21
Parkes Street, Tuncurry).
People are encouraged to register online at Register Find Reunite
https://register.redcross.org.au/ before attending the evacuation
centre.

If you live in the area but are away from home, it may not be safe
to return to your property.
