A bush fire is burning approximately 30km north of the Ebor area. The fire is currently 4,905 hectares and is being controlled.

Current Situation

A fire is burning within the Guy Fawkes National Park, north of Ebor.

Strengthening winds are likely to push the fire to the east and south east, towards Marengo Road.

Firefighters have been working to slow the spread of the fire and hold it to the west of Guy Fawkes River. Crews will be assisted by water bombing aircraft.

The Large Air Tanker is being deployed to construct retardant lines on the southern and eastern sides of the fire.

Residents along Marengo Road and Armidale Road between Marengo Road and Tyringham Road, as well as residents within the villages of Tyringham and Dundurrabin should continue to monitor local conditions and know what they will do if threatened by fire over the coming days.

Consider moving stock out of elevated bush fire danger areas and into areas of lower risk.

Check and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. Leaving early is your safest option.
