Watch and Act - Green Wattle Creek and The Peaks fires, Lake Burragorang area (Wollondilly LGA)

There is a number of fires burning in the area around Lake Burragorang. These fires are out of control and spreading in an easterly direction.

Current Situation

There is a number of fires burning in the Lake Burragorang area, including the Green Wattle Creek fire and The Peaks fires.
These fires are burning in an easterly direction, with the Green Wattle Creek fire being controlled and The Peaks fire not yet contained.
At this stage, the fires are burning on the western side of Lake Burragorang in the Yerranderie area.
Deteriorating weather conditions later today are expected to push these fires further towards the east and they may cross the lake.
Advice

If you are in the area between Warragamba and Hill Top, monitor conditions and be ready to take action. Strong winds may send smoke and embers towards these areas today.
This includes Warragamba, Silverdale, Werombi, The Oaks, Nattai, Oakdale, Lakesland, Thirlmere, Buxton, Balmoral, Bargo and Hill Top and surrounding areas.
If you are threatened by fire

Do not be in the path of the fire.
Protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Wear protective clothing and footwear. Cover all exposed skin.
If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000).
