Watch and Act - Little L Complex, Yengo National Park (Singleton LGA)

There are multiple bush fires burning in the Yengo National Park area. The fire is more than 13,000 hectares in size and is out of control.

Current Situation

The fire is burning to the west of Paynes Crossing, Laguna and Wollombi.
The fire is moving in a easterly direction towards the Great North Road and has spotted across Stockyard Creek.
Fire activity is increasing in the Finchley Track area, west of Laguna.
There are a number of other fires burning in the Yengo National Park including the Werong Creek fire and Blue Gum fire.
Yango Creek Road and Stockyard Creek Road are open to local residents only.
Check Live Traffic NSW for road information.
Roads into Yengo National Park are closed.

If you are in the area of Stockyard Creek, Quart Pot Creek, Cagneys Road, Moores Road, Bivens Road, Upper Yango Creek Road and Knights Road, monitor conditions. Know what you will do if the fire threatens.
If you are in the area of Wollombi and Laguna, monitor conditions. Leaving early is the safest option.
Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety. Only stay if you are physically and mentally prepared to defend in these conditions.
If you are not prepared, leave early in the day.
If you are threatened by fire

Do not be in the path of the fire.
Protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Wear protective clothing and footwear. Cover all exposed skin.
If the fire impacts, seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000).
