Severe thunderstorms continuing through the Central West and developing through the North West and Channel Country

Weather Situation:
Severe thunderstorms remain active over southwest Queensland along a pre-frontal trough associated with a cut-off low pressure system over South Australia.
Supercell thunderstorms with the risk of destructive winds, giant hailstones, and intense rainfall are possible through the Channel Country.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Central West and Channel Country districts. Locations which may be affected include Isisford, Barcaldine, Stonehenge, Jericho and Ilfracombe.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the North West and Central West districts. Locations which may be affected include Duchess, Dajarra, Selwyn and Middleton.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
