For people in Central Coast and Whitsundays and parts of Northern
Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin,
Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts.

Storms with possible damaging winds approaching the Townsville
area from the southwest. Storms with possible large hail and
damaging winds developing along the coast to the south.
Weather Situation:
A line of thunderstorms with possible damaging wind gusts is
approaching the Townsville area from the southwest.
Other thunderstorms with possible large hail and damaging winds
are occurring in coastal districts further south.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the
next several hours in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper
Flinders, Herbert and Lower Burdekin and Central Coast and
Whitsundays districts. Locations which may be affected include
Charters Towers, Bowen, Townsville, Collinsville, Ayr and
Clare.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the
Central Coast and Whitsundays, Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett
districts. Locations which may be affected include Bundaberg,
Mackay, Proserpine, Yeppoon, Hamilton Island and Gin Gin.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
