For people in parts of North Tropical Coast and Tablelands,
Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays,
Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts.

Threat of further giant hail is easing.
Weather Situation:
Storms with possible damaging winds moving off the Herbert and
Lower Burdekin coast.
Storms with possible damaging winds and large hail developing in
the northern Herbert and Lower Burdekin and southern North Tropical
Coast and Tablelands districts.
Storms with possible damaging winds and large hail continuing in
the Wide Bay and Burnett and southern Capricornia districts.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the North
Tropical Coast and Tablelands, Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Central
Coast and Whitsundays and Capricornia districts. Locations which
may be affected include Proserpine, Bowen, Townsville, Palm Island,
Hamilton Island and Ayr.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and
large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the
Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett districts. Locations which may
be affected include Hamilton Island, Monto, Biggenden, Eidsvold,
Gin Gin and Miriam Vale.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Northern
Goldfields and Upper Flinders district and the warning for this
district is CANCELLED.
Giant hailstones estimated greater than 10cm reported from
Bloomsbury and Yalboroo, north of Mackay.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
