North to northwesterly winds will strengthen ahead of a vigorous cold front reaching the Lower Eyre Peninsula and western parts of Kangaroo Island later this morning. Damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible in showers and thunderstoms associated with the front.

Locations which may be affected include Point Avoid, Port Lincoln, Tumby Bay, and Cape Borda.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
