Damaging winds associated with a vigorous southwesterly airstream, squally showers and thunderstorms.

A cold and vigorous southwesterly airstream with squally showers, small hail and isolated thunderstorms is affecting the south of the State.

Potentially damaging winds averaging 50-65 km/h about coastal areas and higher ground of the ranges within the warning area. Damaging wind gusts generally in the range 90-100 km/h may occur over parts of the warning area, most likely with squally showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Bordertown and Lameroo.

A gust of 98 km/h was reported at Lameroo at 1:02 pm. A gust of 91 km/h was reported at Cape Willoughby at 8:36 am and also at Outer Harbour at 10:55am. A gust of 89 km/h was reported at Parafield Airport at 6:31 am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
