Damaging winds and gusty showers and thunderstorms over southern
SA this morning.
Weather Situation: A vigorous west to southwesterly flow is
causing damaging wind gusts over southeastern SA this
morning.
Strong west to southwesterly winds locally reaching 50-65 km/h
with gusts in excess of 90 km/h are expected Tuesday morning.
Damaging winds with gusts in excess of 90km/h are possible across
the warning area, mostly associated with passing showers and
thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms may also produce short
bursts of heavy rainfall. Winds are forecast to ease during later
during the morning and into the afternoon.
Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Clare, Maitland,
Murray Bridge, Kingscote and Jamestown.
A gust of 96km/h recorded at Neptune Island at 345am this
morning.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are
severe.
