Hot to very hot with northerly winds ahead of a gusty
southwesterly change.
Weather Situation:
Northeast to northerly winds increasing early this morning ahead
of a vigorous southwesterly change extending from the west.
Damaging northerly winds averaging 40-65 km/h, with gusts around
90 km/h, are possible ahead of a cooler squally change extending
from the west. Damaging south to southwesterly winds averaging
50-70 km/h, with gusts of 90-100 km/h, are possible with and
immediately following the change.
The change was near Ceduna at 11:00 am and will continue to move
eastwards to reach eastern parts of the warning area late afternoon
or early evening.
Areas of raised dust are also likely ahead of and following the
change.
Locations which may be affected include Ceduna, Marla, Coober
Pedy, Roxby Downs, Oodnadatta and Woomera.
A gust reaching 95km/h was recorded at Nullarbor at 06:43 this
morning.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are
severe.
