Flood Watch Number: 5
Minor flooding and river rises are occurring in the North East of
Tasmania. Additional river rises are expected during Saturday and
minor flooding may develop in the upper South Esk river.
A vigorous cold front front will cross Tasmania on Saturday
morning, bringing a colder southwesterly stream which will continue
throughout Sunday and Monday.
In the 72 hours to 9am Saturday, widespread rainfall totals of
10-35 mm were observed in north east areas, with isolated higher
totals up to 80 mm. Upper catchment areas are saturated and rivers
are rising.
Showers are easing during Saturday morning. No significant totals
are expected over the weekend.
Minor Flood Warnings continue for the North Esk and Macquarie
Rivers. Additional flood warnings will be issued for other
catchments if and when required.
Strong and dangerous flows will remain a hazard over the next few
days.

South Esk River
Ringarooma River
North Coastal Rivers
