Flood Watch Number: 9

River rises are continuing in North West catchments due to rainfall and snowmelt. Additional rises are expected during Wednesday and Thursday.

Showers will continue in the west during Wednesday, with a cold front crossing the State in the afternoon.

Catchments are saturated and many dams are spilling. Snowmelt may add to runoff.

Rainfall totals of 20-40 mm in the west and south west are forecast for Wednesday, with isolated higher totals up to 50 mm possible in elevated areas. Rapid snowmelt may enhance river rises from Wednesday afternoon.

Minor flood warnings are current for the Huon and Derwent catchments.

Further catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Mersey River
Forth River
Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers
Arthur River
