Issued at 12:17 pm EST on Friday 30 July 2021 By the Bureau of Meteorology, Hobart.

Flood Watch Number: 5

Minor flooding may develop in the flood watch catchments from Saturday.

Another cold front is expected to bring heavy rainfall across the flood watch area on Saturday.

Most catchments are relatively wet to saturated from the recent rain and rivers will be highly responsive to further rainfall.

Widespread rainfall totals of 15-30 mm are forecast about the north and west for Saturday, with 45-60 mm on the western tiers and 10-20 in the centre and far south.

Strong river rises are likely in the flood watch catchments in response to forecast rain over the weekend.

Minor flood warnings are current for the North Esk River, South Esk River, Macquarie River, Meander River and River Derwent.

Additional catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Ringarooma River

North Coastal Rivers

Mersey River

Forth River

Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers

Arthur River

Huon River

Channel Coastal Rivers (South East Cape to Gordon)
