Flood Watch Number: 4
Minor flooding and areas of local flooding are possible during
Saturday and into Sunday.
A broad area of low pressure over Tasmania is expected to continue
to bring showers to parts of southern and north eastern Tasmania
during Saturday, with possible thunderstorms around coastal
areas.
Catchments across south eastern and north eastern Tasmania are wet
from recent rainfall.
Widespread rainfall totals of 10-30 mm are forecast for the
remainder of Saturday in the flood watch catchments. Higher totals
are possible in elevated areas and with thunderstorms.
River rises are likely. Minor flooding may develop overnight
Saturday and into Sunday.
Localised flooding is also possible in areas that receive the
heavier rainfall.
Catchments likely to be affected include:
North Esk River
Channel Coastal Rivers (South East Cape to Gordon)
East Coastal Rivers (south of Bicheno)
South East
Flood Warnings are now current for: Huon River and South Esk
River.
