Flood Watch Number: 1

Minor to moderate flooding is possible from overnight Thursday into Friday.

A low pressure system is expected to bring heavy rain to parts of eastern, central and southern Tasmania from late Thursday through Saturday.

Most catchments are relatively dry, except parts of the north east which are relatively wet from recent rainfall.

Widespread 30-50 mm is forecast from Thursday night and during Friday. Much higher totals are possible in elevated areas and with thunderstorms.

River rises are expected. Minor to moderate flooding may develop from overnight Thursday into Friday.

Significant localised flooding is also expected in areas that receive heavy rainfall.

Furneaux Islands

North Esk River

South Esk River

Macquarie River

East Coastal Rivers (north of Bicheno)

Tamar (Launceston)

Huon River

Channel Coastal Rivers (South East Cape to Gordon)

Derwent River

Jordan River

Coal River

East Coastal Rivers (south of Bicheno)

South East
