of Central North and Midlands Forecast Districts.

Weather Situation:
A low pressure system will develop over Bass Strait Thursday
morning and will move over eastern Tasmania as it tracks to the
southeast of the state by Thursday evening.
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible from
the early hours of Thursday morning through to late morning for the
northeast and during the morning to early afternoon for the east
coast. 6 hour totals of 40 to 60mm with localised falls in excess
of 70mm are expected.
A Flood Watch is current for North East and East Coast
catchments.
Locations which may be affected include Scottsdale, Whitemark, St
Helens, Swansea, Bicheno and Orford.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Clear drains and gutters on premises prior to severe weather
arriving.
* Do not walk, ride or drive through flood waters.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to
TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further
advice.
