Minor and moderate flood warnings are current across Gippsland,
North East and Central Victoria. Further rainfall is forecast
during Sunday and Monday.
A strong cold front is forecast to sweep across Victoria during
Sunday.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Sunday, widespread rainfall totals of
5-35 mm have been recorded across Gippsland, North East, Central
Victoria and the Otway Coast. Catchments in the flood watch area
are relatively wet.
Rainfall totals of 10-20 mm are forecast during Sunday across the
Eastern Ranges and Bass Coast, with 1-5 mm elsewhere. A further
5-15 mm is forecast for Gippsland and the Yarra Ranges during
Monday.
Additional areas of minor flooding is possible across the flood
watch area.
A moderate flood warning is current for the Mitchell River and
minor flood warnings are current for the Kiewa, Snowy, Tambo, Avon,
Macalister, Thomson, Yarra, Latrobe, Bunyip and the Traralgon and
Dandenong Creeks,
Catchments likely to be affected include:
Gippsland Lakes
South Gippsland Rivers
Yarra River to Coldstream
Yarra River downstream of Coldstream
Flooding is no longer expected in the following catchments: Bemm,
Cann and Genoa Rivers and Otway Coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology is continuing to monitor the situation
and will issue catchment specific warnings as required.

SES advises that all community members should:

to play in floodwater, Stay away from waterways and stormwater
drains during and after heavy rain, Keep well clear of fallen power
lines Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into
waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks,
and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and
debris across roads.
