Isolated flooding may develop in the Upper Murray catchment from Sunday into Monday.

A series of cold fronts are forecast to move across Victoria over the weekend.
Over the North East ranges, snow levels are forecast to lower to 500 metres overnight Saturday to Sunday before rising to 800 metres during Sunday and then to 1200-1600 metres during Monday.

The Upper Murray catchment is wet from recent rain.

Rainfall totals of 20-30 mm with isolated totals up to 40 mm are forecast for the remainder of Saturday and 15-25 mm for Sunday.

Rain and rapid snow melt during Sunday to Monday may contribute to strong river rises. Isolated minor flooding is possible across the Upper Murray catchment from overnight Sunday into Monday.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Upper Murray and Mitta Mitta Rivers

The Bureau of Meteorology is continuing to monitor the situation and will issue catchment specific warnings as required.
