Weather Situation: A vigorous west to norhtwesterly flow will continue over Victoria during Monday with gusty showers and thunderstorms possible.

DAMAGING west to northwesterly winds of 50 to 60 km/h with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible with showers and thunderstorms over coastal parts of the Southwest, Central and West and South Gippsland districts during Monday.

Localised DAMGING WINDS with gusts up to around 90 km/h associated with showers and thunderstorms are possible for remaining parts of the warning area during today.

These conditions are likely to contract towards the coast overnight before extending inland again durign Tuesday.

Locations most likely to be affected include Portland, Warrnambool, Colac, Wonthaggi and the Alpine resorts.

Highest wind gusts recorded to 10:00am Monday include:

- 104km/h at Wilsons Promontory

- 103 km/h at Port Fairy

- 100 km/h at Falls Creek

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
