Weather Situation: A cold front just enterning western Victoria is expected to sweep across Victoria today.
DAMAGING WINDS, averaging 50 to 60 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are expected across elevated parts of western and central Victoria, easing in the west by early this afternoon and central parts during the afternoon.

Damaging winds are also expected across eastern parts of the warning area for the rest of today. Winds over Alpine areas (above 1000 metres) may gust to 110 km/h.

Locations which may be affected include Ararat, Falls Creek and Mt Buller.
Highest wind gusts on Friday to 10:30am include:
- 107 km/h at Mt William at 4:03am
- 102 km/h at Mt Buller at 10:29am
- 95 km/h at Ben Nevis at 12:15am

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
