For people in Central, South West, North Central and parts of East Gippsland, North East, West and South Gippsland and Wimmera Forecast Districts.

Weather Situation: A cold front will approach Victoria on Saturday night then will cross the State on Sunday. Northerly winds will strengthen ahead of the front.

DAMAGING NORTHERLY WINDS averaging 50 to 60 km/h with peak gusts of 90 km/h are forecast to develop over elevated parts of the warning area on Saturday night. Peak gusts around 100 km/h are possible about Alpine areas above 1000m elevation.

DAMAGING NORTHERLY WINDS with peak gusts up to 90km/h are possible over remaining parts of the Central and Southwest forecast districts during Sunday morning and afternoon.
Locations most likely to be affected include all Alpine resorts as well as Macedon ranges and the Grampians. Other locations that may be affected include Warrnambool, Seymour, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne and Bacchus Marsh.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
