For people in parts of Pilbara and Gascoyne districts.

Issued at 11:05 am Sunday, 17 June 2018.

A middle level cloud band will develop over the northwest of WA ahead of a moderate to strong cold front passing over the southwest of the State early Monday morning. The band will extend from the far northwest Gascoyne to the western Pilbara during Monday and early Tuesday. Rainfall will develop during the early hours of Monday morning.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is possible, particularly near the coast in the far west Pilbara and norhtwest Gascoyne, between Coral Bay and Exmouth where 24 hour rainfall totals of 100mm to 9am Tuesday are possible.

Please refer to the second Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds associated with the cold front as it passes over the southwest corner of WA late Sunday night and during the early hours of Monday morning.

Locations which may be affected include Carnarvon, Exmouth, Onslow, Gascoyne Junction, Minilya Roadhouse and Wooramel Roadhouse.

This type of weather is unseasonal for the northwest Gascoyne and western Pilbara, and rainfall totals will add to received from previous weather systems earlier this month.
