Wintery blast with damaging winds possible for western and central parts of SA.

Weather Situation: Cold squally winds, showers, possible thunderstorms and small hail continuing across the southern half of the State today in a cold, unstable airmass.

Damaging wind gusts of 90-100 km/h are possible in the warning area today, particularly with showers and thunderstorms and about the West Coast district. In addition, the strong and gusty southwesterly winds may reach 50 to 65 km/h at times near western coasts and about the higher peaks of the Flinders Ranges.

Locations which may be affected include Ceduna, Elliston, Wudinna, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Woomera and Hawker.

Conditions are expected to gradually ease later this afternoon.

Wind gusts to 87 km/h have been recorded at Ceduna this morning.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
