Flood Watch Number: 1

Flooding possible from Saturday onwards in the flood watch area.

A low approaching the south east coast will see heavier rain returning to Gippsland late Friday and throughout most of Saturday.

Catchments in the flood watch area are wet following recent rainfall.

Heavy rainfall is forecast for late Friday and throughout Saturday. Widespread rainfall totals of 15-25 mm are forecast across the flood watch area. Rainfall totals of 40-60 mm are forecast about South Gippsland, with isolated heavier totals up to 100 mm possible over the Strzelecki Ranges.

Flooding is possible in the Tambo River, Macalister River and South Gippsland Rivers.

Flood warnings are current for Snowy River, Mitchell River, Avon River, Thomson River, Latrobe River, Traralgon Creek and Gippsland Lakes
