Weather Situation:
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:10 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Virginia and Edinburgh.
These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast.
They are forecast to affect Elizabeth, Salisbury and One Tree Hill by 9:40 pm and Birdwood, Palmer and the area south of Mount Pleasant by 10:10 pm.
Damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are likely.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
