HEAVY TO LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL IN FAR NORTHEAST NSW THIS
EVENING.
Weather Situation: A southerly change moves through the far
northeast of the state this evening. A humid and unstable airmass
is in place across the region and severe thunderstorms on and ahead
of the change bring the risk of heavy to intense rainfall.
VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce heavy, locally
intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening
flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Northern
Rivers district. Locations which may be affected include
Murwillumbah, Numinbah, Tyalgum and Nimbin.
Severe thunderstorms are likely over the next several hours in
parts of the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands districts.
Locations which may be affected include Lismore, Tweed Heads,
Murwillumbah, Kyogle, Casino and Mullumbimby.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest
available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets
indoors as well.
