MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE FROM FRIDAY

Locally moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast across the Flood Watch area over the next few days.

Catchments within the Flood Watch area are wet to saturated following significant rainfall over the last few weeks, with prolonged ongoing flooding occurring in some of the catchments. Forecast rainfall may cause further river and creek level rises from Friday with minor to moderate flooding possible.

Localised flash flooding is likely within the areas of heaviest rainfall.
Further isolation of communities and disruption to transport routes is likely.

Settlement Creek

Nicholson River

Leichhardt River

Upper Flinders River (A flood warning is current)

Lower Flinders River (A flood warning is current)

Cloncurry River (A flood warning is current)

Norman River (A flood warning is current)

Gilbert River

Staaten River

Mitchell River
