MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF THE NORTH TROPICAL COAST
FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING
Moderate rainfall has been observed across parts of the North
Tropical Coast overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Further moderate
to locally heavy rainfall is forecast during Wednesday and
Thursday, with the heaviest rainfall likely in the southern parts
of the Flood Watch Area.
Minor flooding is possible within the Flood Watch area from
Wednesday evening. Heavy rainfall may also cause localised flash
flooding and disruption to transport routes.
Catchments across the Flood Watch area remain relatively wet
following repeated rainfall events over the last month, and will
respond quickly to further rainfall.
Catchments likely to be affected include:
Daintree River
(Including the Bloomfield River)
Mossman River
Mulgrave and Russell Rivers
Tully River
Murray River
Herbert River
Black River
