Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji continues moving inland, bringing heavy rainfall today.

Weather Situation: Ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji is currently located over the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders district, weakening as it continues slowly tracking northwesterly over land. The system is bringing moist onshore flow to its south, continuing to support the risk of heavy rainfall today.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely along coastal and adjacent inland parts between Mackay and Rockhampton today. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 50 to 90 mm are likely with isolated falls up to 120 mm possible.

Locations which may be affected include Emerald, Rockhampton, Clermont, Biloela, Moranbah and St Lawrence.

99 mm was recorded at Sunny Park in the 6 hours to 7:28 am.

113 mm was recorded at Fitzroy Developmental Road in the 6 hours to 4:39 am.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
