An elevated slow moving thunderstorm cluster over northern South Australia is producing heavy rainfall.

Weather Situation: An upper-level trough combines with rich atmospheric moisture to produce elevated thunderstorms over the north east of the state this evening and overnight.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Mungeranie on the Birdsville Track and the Strzelecki Track south of Moomba.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
