Severe thunderstorms have developed in western parts of the state

Weather Situation: A trough moving through southwestern parts of the state is triggering severe thunderstorms in a moist and unstable environment. Thunderstorm activity will continue throughout the afternoon and into the evening, gradually shifting east and inland.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Tarcoola.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
