Damaging wind gusts today over western and central SA.
Weather Situation: A trough and cold front will move through
western parts of South Australia today, with gusty winds developing
as they progress eastwards across the state.
Strong west to northwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible in the warning
area from late this morning and through this evening.
Winds will shift west to southwesterly and then begin to ease in
the west during the evening, and over the Lower Eyre Peninsula and
Eastern Eyre Peninsula overnight.
Locations which may be affected include Port Lincoln, Ceduna,
Coober Pedy, Wudinna, Elliston, Cleve, Maralinga, Oak Valley, Cook,
Nullarbor, Tarcoola and parts of the Great Victoria Desert.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are
severe.
