Damaging winds in the Adelaide Hills, eastern and southern suburbs of Adelaide, Kangaroo Island and parts of the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula.

Weather Situation: A vigorous east to southeasterly airflow has developed over the Mt Lofty Ranges and SA Gulfs as a result of a deepening low pressure system to the north.

East to southeasterly DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 70 km/h with peak DAMAGING GUSTS in excess of 90 km/h are possible over the warning area from now until late Monday morning. These conditions are most likely on the ridge tops and western slopes of the hills as well as near the coast, however are possible throughout the area.

Locations which may be affected include eastern and southern Adelaide, Noarlunga, Gawler, Mount Barker, Parndana, Penneshaw, Edithburgh, Stenhouse Bay and Victor Harbor.

Sellicks Hill has recorded average wind speeds of around 70 km/h since mid-afternoon, with gusts as high as 89 km/h.

Stenhouse Bay has recorded average wind speeds this morning of 65 km/h with gusts as high as 87 km/h.

Cape Borda has recorded average wind speeds this morning of 68 km/h with wind gusts as high as 104 km/h.

Cape Willoughby has recorded average wind speeds this morning of 65 km/h with wind gusts as high as 81 km/h.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
