Severe thunderstorms continuing in the Darling Downs, Scenic Rim,
Toowoomba, and developing over the Western Downs and Burnett
region.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:35 pm, a VERY DANGEROUS
THUNDERSTORM likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that
may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding was
detected near the area northwest of Kingaroy. This thunderstorm is
moving towards the north. It is forecast to affect the area north
of Kingaroy and the area south of Lake Boondooma by 8:05 pm and
Proston, Wondai and Murgon by 8:35 pm.
Other severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that
may lead to flash flooding were detected near Greenbank and Wacol.
These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are
forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Woodridge and Sunnybank Hills by
8:05 pm and Slacks Creek, Tingalpa Reservoir and Manly by 8:35
pm.
60.mm was recorded at Jimna in the 30 minutes to 2:55pm.
