HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL ABOUT SOUTHEAST QUEENSLAND.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:30 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected near Wamuran. This thunderstorm is moving towards the north. It is forecast to affect Mount Beerwah, Beerwah and Peachester by 4:00 pm and Maleny, Montville and Palmwoods by 4:30 pm.

76 mm of rainfall was recorded at Greenbank in the 1 hour to 2:27pm.

61 mm of rainfall was recorded at Oxley Creek in the 1 hour to 2:23pm.

64 mm of rainfall was recorded at Park Ridge in the 1 hour to 1:56pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
