Flood Watch Number: 2

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY ACROSS PARTS OF THE TAMAR BASIN AND MERSEY RIVER CATCHMENT FROM FRIDAY EVENING, WITH A LOW RISK OF ISOLATED MODERATE FLOODING ON SATURDAY

Rain associated with a low pressure system is expected to move into far western parts of the Flood Watch area late Thursday. The rain will move across the remainder of the Flood Watch area during Friday, before largely clearing to the east by late Friday.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively wet. River and stream levels remain elevated due to recent rainfall.

Rainfall totals of 25 to 35 mm are forecast over the Flood Watch area, with higher totals of 50-60 mm possible over elevated locations.

Minor flooding is likely to develop across parts of the Flood Watch area from Friday evening. Isolated moderate flooding is possible on Saturday.

Elevated river levels are occurring over parts of the North West and Central Coast Rivers. Renewed river level rises are expected during Friday and into the weekend.

North Esk River

South Esk River

Meander River

Macquarie River

Mersey River

Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers
