Showers and thunderstorms with damaging winds over parts of the north coast

Weather Situation: A weakening front is producing thunderstorms with potential for damaging winds over the north coast early this morning

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include George Town and Bridport.

A 96km/h wind gust was recorded at Low Head at 4:25am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
