MINOR FLOODING AND AREAS OF LOCALISED FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA FROM OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY

A slow moving low pressure trough is forecast to approach the western border during Sunday, with areas of widespread moderate to heavy rainfall and embedded thunderstorms developing over the west, particularly near the border. The trough is expected to slowly cross western and central Victoria during Monday, with possible moderate to locally heavy falls.

Heavy rainfall totals are expected around parts of the north west and south west catchments of Victoria from Sunday. Accumulated rainfall totals may be significant.

Catchments are relatively dry across the Flood Watch area, with some areas slightly wetter due to rainfall observed since last Sunday morning. River and creek level rises, and areas of minor flooding may develop from overnight Sunday into Monday. Localised flooding and overland inundation is also possible within the Flood Watch area.

A Flood Watch is current for parts of South Australia, including the Limestone and Millicent Coast Rivers and Creeks.

Portland Coast

Glenelg River

Limestone and Millicent Coast Rivers and Creeks

Avoca River

Murray River downstream of Tocumwal (Localised flooding only)

Mallee

Wimmera River
