MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE IN THE FLOOD WATCH AREA FROM
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
A mature low-pressure system located offshore of the New South
Wales coast will remain near the coast until early Thursday, before
moving eastwards across the Tasman Sea.
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Gippsland
area since Tuesday morning and further rainfall is forecast for the
remainder of Wednesday and Thursday. River level rises has been
observed in several catchments in Gippsland and minor flooding is
occurring along the Genoa River. Further river level rises and
areas of minor to moderate flooding are possible across the Flood
Watch area from Wednesday afternoon. The location and severity of
the flooding is extremely dependent on the movement of the low and
the areas of heaviest rainfall.
Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively wet following
recent rainfall.

Snowy River
Tambo River
Mitchell River
Avon River
Macalister River
Thomson River
Latrobe River
Traralgon Creek
Flood Warnings are current for the following catchment(s): Bemm,
Cann and Genoa

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is
dangerous.
