Initial Flood Watch for parts of North and North East Victoria

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE IN PARTS OF THE NORTH AND NORTH EAST FROM SATURDAY,
WITH CHANCE OF ISOLATED MODERATE FLOODING

A cold front will approach Victoria on late Friday and cross the state during
Saturday. This is forecast to bring moderate rainfall to parts of the north and
north east of the state, with the highest rainfall totals forecast about the
eastern ranges and alpine areas.

Catchments are wet to very wet in these areas, with river levels remaining
elevated in parts, and are likely to respond quickly to further rainfall. Minor
flooding may develop across the Flood Watch area from Saturday afternoon
onwards, with the chance of isolated moderate flooding in areas of higher
rainfall.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Upper Murray and Mitta Mitta Rivers

Kiewa River

Ovens and King Rivers

Loddon River

Avoca River
