Damaging winds during Sunday over southeast WA.

Weather Situation: A surface trough and strong cold front will move through southern parts of the state during Sunday. Gusty winds are expected to develop around the trough and ahead of the cold front as they transition through the eastern Goldfields and South East Coastal in the late morning, then into the Eucla and South Interior in the afternoon.

Strong west to northwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of 90 to 100km/h are possible in the warning area from late Sunday morning.

Winds will shift westerly and begin to ease through western parts of the warning area mid Sunday afternoon, before easing through the Eucla and South Interior during Sunday evening with the passage of the cold front.

Locations which may be affected include Balladonia, Eucla, Eyre, Forrest, Rawlinna and Zanthus.

A separate Severe Weather Warning is current for DAMAGING WIND GUSTS for the Lower West, Central West and South West districts for Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* If outside find safe shelter away from trees, power lines, storm water drains and streams.
* Close your curtains and blinds, and stay inside away from windows.
* Unplug electrical appliances and do not use land line telephones if there is lightning.
* If boating, swimming or surfing leave the water.
* Be alert and watch for hazards on the road such as fallen power lines and loose debris.
* Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
* Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
* Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live.
* Assess your home, car and property for damage.
* If damage has occurred take photos and contact your insurance company to organise permanent repairs.
* If your home or property has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES on 132 500.
